European Spallation Source (ESS) är ett internationellt forskningsprojekt som syftar till att skapa ett tvärvetenskapligt forskningscenter baserat på världens mest kraftfulla neutronkälla, vilken kan liknas vid ett gigantiskt mikroskop. Tyréns har i uppdrag att delta i utredningen och projekteringen av ESS – European Spallation Source.
